New belt tension for Fresh Breeze motors.
This new update can be installed on any solo 110 122 or monster 122 motor ... all new motors will include this new item.

New 2005 center pull belt tension for Fresh Breeze.
The new belt tensioner uses a middle pull to help prevent the binding of the re-drive plates and the prop spindle. The new design uses an 8 mm stud and a lock nut, which should be replaced every 30-40 uses to protect the nylon from wearing out ... However tensioning is not required as much with the new system and 50 hours or more should go with only 1or 2 adjustments, since the 8 mm stud can take the full load of the belt even on the Monster. Notes and assembly operations follow...
Save one little problem ... the 8 mm stock bolt with the hole drilled thru the head of it. The one that goes to the rubber mount on the gas tank arm is in the way. How to remove it is below.
1.) The front and back plates must be fastened to the square tubes at the top of the re-drive to allow the 8 mm button head cap to transfer load from the rubber mount to the re-drive. We did this by adding two pop rivets to the back plate to the square tubes. Note: We may want to change the pop rivets to m6 bolts with lock nuts since this connection is now some what load bearing. Remember that when you tighten the prop spindle it also clamps the re-drive plate together.
2.) The 8 mm button head allows clearance for the new tensioner to come up from the middle of the re-drive.. you can get the button head in from bellow thru the slot, or you can drill out the top plate to clear the button head. Add a little blue loctite and you are done.
3.) Without the 8mm stock bolt the prop spindle can rotate while tightening it. To stop this replace the original 5 mm tensioning bolt in the old tensioning plate and bottom it out and add a little blue loc-tight to keep it in there.
